Job summary

Clarks Outlet in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a BI Engineer to develop, deploy, and maintain BI assets—dashboards, reports, and data models that support self-service analytics and informed decision-making.

You will partner with business units, build enterprise dashboards, and ensure data quality, governance, and literacy across the organization. A background in analytics and familiarity with SQL, Power BI, and Synapse is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience developing BI tools.
• A’ Level education in a numerate discipline or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in Power BI & Power Query.
• Sound knowledge of SQL and experience of at least one other common programming language (e.g., Python, Spark, R)
• Capable in data provision using Synapse or equivalent
• Experience in Retail / Supply Chain is desirable
• Familiarity with Data Management practices including Data Governance and MDM
• Knowledge of Data Modelling
• Strong analytical skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Partner with Business Units to identify opportunities to leverage data, increase efficiency and automate processes
• Develop company level reports, dashboards and ad-hoc analyses which enable enterprise data to be exploited to better serve our customers
• Interpret and analyze data to specific business questions and provide regular KPI reporting
• Build and maintain Data Literacy modules
• Deliver Data Literacy training to broad knowledge worker groups and actively participate in the BI, Data & Analytics CoP (Community of Practice)
• Ensure data quality is maintained for existing use cases and support the assessment for new use cases
• Validate business developed reports and assets
• Work alongside Data Engineers to develop the Data Products

The BI Engineer works in close collaboration with colleagues across the organization to develop, deploy and maintain BI assets, including interactive dashboards, reports and data models supporting self-service analytics. Their outputs deliver actionable insights, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.
