Job summary

Private Advertiser in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Business Development, Project & Fit-Out Manager to identify new store locations, evaluate malls and negotiate terms, preparing business cases for expansion.

You will manage openings, renovations, timelines and budgets, coordinating with designers, landlords and contractors. Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong communication are essential; English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and Cantonese are required to liaise with diverse partners.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Business Development, Project & Fit-Out Manager

Identify potential new store locations and business opportunities.

Evaluate malls, locations, rental and commercial viability.

Liaise with landlords, mall management and property agents.

Negotiate commercial terms, tenancy and renewal.

Prepare business cases for new stores, relocation and expansion.

Monitor Malaysia retail market and competitor expansion.

2. Project & Fit-Out:

Manage new store opening, renovation, relocation and refurbishment projects.

Manage project timeline, budget and contractors.

Coordinate with designers, consultants, landlords and contractors.

Handle tender, quotation and contractor selection.

Conduct site inspection and monitor construction progress.

Ensure stores are completed according to G2000 standards, budget and timeline.

Coordinate handover and opening readiness.

3. Cost & Project Control:

Prepare project budget and CAPEX.

Control construction and fit-out costs.

Review quotations and variation orders.

Report project status, risks and delays to Management.

4. Maintenance / Existing Stores:

Oversee major repair, renovation and improvement projects.

Coordinate with contractors for urgent building/facility issues.

Maintain records of store renovation and project history.

5. Any other ad-hoc tasks

Min 8-12 years in retail expansion, property, leasing, project management, fit-out or retail development.

Commercial creativity with strong fashion sense and awareness of retail trends; fashion industry experience is an advantage.

Proven experience in handling generic tenancy administration, project administration in retail industries.

Auto-cad skills required.

Tactful communication skills to deal with different parties.

Detail-minded, strong project management, communication and presentation skills.

Willing to work under pressure.

Proficient in Words, Excel and Powerpoint.

Required languages - English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin & Cantonese as this roles will required to liaise with our diverse client base and partners.
