Job summary

OPTIMUM INFOSOLUTIONS (M) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Payment Integration to join our Kuala Lumpur team on a contract basis. You will bridge business needs with technical implementation for payment integration projects, gathering requirements, and producing functional specifications.

You will collaborate with stakeholders and developers, define test criteria, and help optimise payment workflows to deliver reliable solutions for clients in Malaysia and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics or a related field.
• 3–5 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, with exposure to payment systems or payment integration projects.
• Strong understanding of payment processing flows, gateways, and integration protocols (APIs, SWIFT, ISO standards).
• Proficiency in requirements gathering, analysis and documentation.

About the role

OPTIMUM INFOSOLUTIONS (M) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Payment Integration to join our team on a contract basis in Kuala Lumpur. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between our business objectives and technical implementation, specifically focusing on payment integration solutions. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical part in understanding client requirements, translating complex business needs into technical specifications, and ensuring seamless payment system implementations that drive value for our organisation and our clients.

Key responsibilities

Analyse and document detailed business requirements for payment integration projects, working closely with stakeholders, clients and internal teams

Conduct thorough stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather, clarify and prioritise payment integration requirements

Create comprehensive functional and technical specifications for payment integration systems and solutions

Develop process flow diagrams, data models and system architecture documentation relevant to payment integration

Liaise between business stakeholders and development teams to ensure accurate translation of requirements into technical deliverables

Support the definition of test strategies and acceptance criteria for payment integration implementations

Conduct impact analysis on proposed changes to payment systems and integration processes

Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to stakeholders on payment integration initiatives

Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions for payment integration workflows

Provide post-implementation support and document lessons learned for continuous improvement

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics or a related field

Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, with specific exposure to payment systems or payment integration projects

Strong understanding of payment processing flows, payment gateways, and integration protocols (e.g. APIs, SWIFT, ISO standards)

Proficiency in requirements gathering, analysis and documentation using industry-standard tools and methodologies

Experience with business analysis techniques such as use case development, data flow diagramming and process modelling

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in complex payment integration scenarios

Knowledge of financial services regulations and compliance requirements related to payment systems

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly

Project management experience and familiarity with Agile or waterfall methodologies

Proficiency in relevant tools such as Visio, Jira, Confluence or similar business analysis software

Preferably experience with banking systems, fintech solutions or e-commerce payment platforms
