Job summary

VISTAS TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. seeks a Building Manager / Supervisor for its data center in Gelang Patah, Johor Bahru.

You will oversee day-to-day building operations, manage shift teams, and coordinate outsourced staff to ensure reliable equipment and safe, compliant facilities. Responsibilities include organizing rosters, responding to alarms, maintaining environmental parameters, and generating daily reports.

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in M&E, electrical, building services or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years in data center or large building facility operations, with experience running a building independently.
• Familiar with the operating principles of power, cooling, UPS and fire systems, with basic fault diagnosis and emergency response capability.
• Experience managing outsourced shift or operations teams, including rostering, supervision and site coordination.
• Good written and spoken English; Chinese or a local language is an advantage.
• Industry certification such as CDCP or an electrical licence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of the building, ensuring equipment is stable, systems function and environmental parameters are met.
• Manage the building shift organisation — shift leaders, shift engineers and shift technicals — plus outsourced staff, approving rosters and supervising attendance and discipline.
• Organise rounds and fault handling so that alarms are answered, failures restored and impact contained promptly.
• Coordinate third-party maintenance providers during repair, servicing and testing, supervising their practice and quality.
• Handle customer work orders and service requests, managing expectations and reporting progress promptly.
• Maintain operations records and submit daily reports and inspection summaries, ensuring data is accurate and traceable.
• Enforce safety standards, drive standardisation of site practice and stop unsafe acts and non-compliant work.
• Manage space, capacity and asset records for the building, tracking rack, power and cooling headroom.
• Run building-level emergency drills and manage shift handover so that information is not lost between crews.
• Assess building staffing and capability, raising requirements for additions, adjustments and training.

POSITION TITLE: Building Manager / Supervisor

WORKING LOCATION: Gelang Patah, Johor Bahru

WORKING ARRANGEMENT: Monday - Friday, 8.30AM - 5.30PM

ABOUT THE ROLE

Oversee day-to-day data center building operations, including equipment reliability, shift teams, outsourced personnel and operational coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Own day-to-day operations of the building, ensuring equipment is stable, systems function and environmental parameters are met.

Manage the building shift organisation — shift leaders, shift engineers and shift technicals — plus outsourced staff, approving rosters and supervising attendance and discipline.

Organise rounds and fault handling so that alarms are answered, failures restored and impact contained promptly.

Coordinate third-party maintenance providers during repair, servicing and testing, supervising their practice and quality.

Handle customer work orders and service requests, managing expectations and reporting progress promptly.

Maintain operations records and submit daily reports and inspection summaries, ensuring data is accurate and traceable.

Enforce safety standards, drive standardisation of site practice and stop unsafe acts and non-compliant work.

Manage space, capacity and asset records for the building, tracking rack, power and cooling headroom.

Run building-level emergency drills and manage shift handover so that information is not lost between crews.

Assess building staffing and capability, raising requirements for additions, adjustments and training.

Exercises site scheduling and permit authority over maintenance engineers deployed to the building: work sequence, conditions and safety measures are gated here, and on‑site performance is fed back to the Maintenance Manager for the dual-line appraisal.

Represents the building in takeover and upgrade acceptance, agreeing to receive only when site conditions, spares and crew training are complete, and refusing to admit unverified assets into routine operation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Diploma or above in M&E, electrical, building services or a related discipline.

Minimum 3 years in data center or large building facility operations, with experience running a building independently.

Familiar with the operating principles of power, cooling, UPS and fire systems, with basic fault diagnosis and emergency response capability.

Experience managing outsourced shift or operations teams, including rostering, supervision and site coordination.

Able to coordinate resources under pressure and drive problems to resolution rather than passing them upward.

Good written and spoken English; Chinese or a local language is an advantage.

Industry certification such as CDCP or an electrical licence is an advantage.
