Job summary

Keppel Data Centres in Malaysia's Johor region seeks a seasoned facilities professional to lead data center operations and maintenance, ensuring safe, reliable, and 100% uptime for critical infrastructure. You will develop and implement SOPs, manage changes, incidents, and audits, mentor junior technicians, and coordinate with vendors to meet QEHS and government requirements.

• 5+ years of experience in a data center or similar critical environment.
• Experience in data centre operations or critical facility management is advantageous.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Good planning, organisational, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to influence, collaborate, and drive outcomes effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist to manage data center operations and maintenance and ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of infrastructure systems and 100% uptime.
• Prepare Change Management document for major activity and attend Change Advisory Board meetings.
• Develop a measured program based on Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements.
• Escalate incidents and issues and prepare incident or root cause analysis reports.
• Identify and carry out corrective and repair programs on electrical, mechanical, fire suppression and BMS systems; conduct annual review on end-of-life components.
• Conduct technical inspections for project hand-over, participate in testing and commissioning.
• Ensure new installations comply with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements and maintain building utilities in line with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA and related regulations.
• Ensure equipment meets operational performance and Green Mark / TIA standards.
• Ensure licenses are renewed in a timely manner.
• Supervise and train junior technicians and other staff in critical spaces.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and disaster contingencies as needed.
• Prepare documentation and participate in internal/external audits.
• Perform other duties to support the facility maintenance function.
• Travel overseas for work as required.

Your main duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Assist to manage data center operations and maintenance and ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of infrastructure systems and 100% uptime. Prepares SOP, MOP, EOP and WI
• Prepare Change Management document for major activity and attends ChangeAdvisory Board meeting
• Develop a measured program based on Key Performance Indicators and ServiceLevel Agreements
• Escalate incidents and issues, adhering to incident process and procedure. Prepareincident report or root cause analysis report
• Identify and carry out corrective and repair programs on electrical, mechanical, firesuppresson and BMS, etc. Conduct annual review on end-of-life components
• Conduct technical inspection for project hand-over process c/w defects. Participate in project testing and commissioning
• Ensure new installation and maintenance of electrical equipment is safe, correct and complies with Suruhanjaya Tenaga's requirement
• Maintain the building utilities operations for the plant and ensuring the plants meets all Municipal and government requirement such as DOSH, DOE, BOMBA and etc.
• Ensure that equipment meet operational performance expectations & comply with Green Mark / TIA Standards
• Ensure all licenses are renewed in timely manner
• Conduct supervision and hands-on training to junior peers (technicians, handyman and members entering critical space)
• Respond to after-hours and unplanned 'disaster response' emergencies/contingencies as and when required without prior notice
• Prepare documentation & attends internal, external or client’s audit
• Perform any additional services needed to meet the requirements of the facility in support of maintenance function
• Travel overseas for work / assignment as and when necessary or requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department
• Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your

immediate supervisor / the head of department from time to day

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field of study required.
• 5+ years of experience in a data center or other Critical Environment required (preference is given to data center, hospital, pharmaceutical production or power plant experience).
• Experience in Data Centre operations or critical facility management is advantageous
• Strong leadership and people management skills with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Good planning, organisational, and problem solving skills
• Ability to influence, collaborate, and drive outcomes effectively
• Customer-oriented with strong vendor and client relationship management capabilities
• Familiarity with QEHS standards and operational audits preferred
