Job summary

Fraser and Neave Malaysia is seeking an experienced Boiler Operator to oversee steam boiler operations and ensure safety procedures comply with DOSH/JKKP and the Factory and Machinery Act 1967.

The role focuses on start-up/shutdown of utilities, water treatment, routine inspections, responding to breakdowns, and supervising external contractors to maintain optimal steam system performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee boiler operation and ensure optimum operating condition for auxiliary equipment
• Manage start-up and shutdown of utilities system, ensuring safe operations
• Monitor boiler and cooling tower water treatment and analysis programs
• Participate in annual inspection activities for maintenance, checks, repairs and commissioning
• Respond to boiler breakdowns, perform repairs and restore operations efficiently
• Report any damage immediately to superior for appropriate action
• Maintain checklists, logbooks and reports for boiler and utilities systems
• Support periodic inspections of steam distribution, ensuring performance of pressure-reducing stations, valves, safety valves and steam traps
• Respond and support utilities equipment breakdowns
• Supervise external contractor’s works/services and monitor performance
• Perform other ad hoc tasks as directed by superior

Operate steam boiler and ensure safety operating procedure are compliant to DOSH/JKKP and Factory and Machinery Act 1967

Key Accountabilities

Oversee the boiler operation and auxiliary equipment are at optimum operating condition

Responsible the start-up and shutdown of utilities system, ensuring seamless and safe operations

Maintain and monitor boiler and cooling tower water treatment and analysis programs

Involve in annual inspection activities with regards to the maintenance, checking, repair and commissioning

Respond promptly to boiler breakdowns, perform necessary repairs, and restore operations efficiently

Report any intentional or unintentional damage immediately to superior for appropriate action

Responsible in routine monitoring and operation of boiler and utility systems, ensuring that checklists, logbooks, and reports are accurately maintained and updated.

Support on periodic inspections of the steam distribution system during both production and non-production periods, ensuring optimal performance of pressure-reducing stations, valves, safety valves, and steam traps

Respond and support utilities equipment breakdown

Supervise external contractor’s works/services and monitor their performance.

Perform other ad hoc tasks and assignments as directed by the superior from time to time
