Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Boiler Operator to manage and monitor boiler processes, ensuring steam production meets production needs while adhering to safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Responsibilities include fuel monitoring, record-keeping, and coordination with Safety & Health to address environmental concerns, while maintaining equipment and adhering to SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Boiler operation experience or basic boiler handling knowledge
• Safety, EMS, and OHSMS awareness
• Ability to monitor fuel usage and report variances
• Record-keeping and documentation accuracy
• Working knowledge of machine maintenance and calibration

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boiler processes to convert fuel into steam for production
• Ensure boiler operations meet specs, standards, cost, quality, delivery and safety requirements
• Troubleshoot, resolve and suggest improvements to boiler-related issues to boost productivity and reduce costs
• Monitor and record fuel consumption and related parameters as set by the organization or authorities
• Report to supervisors any issues affecting boiler performance or compliance
• Coordinate with Safety & Health Department to address environmental concerns and carry out countermeasures
• Oversee servicing and maintenance of applicable machines and equipment
• Adhere to Safety SOPs and maintain workplace cleanliness
• Promote competency and awareness of fire safety among boiler staff
• Ensure QMS, EMS, and OHSMS requirements are implemented and improved
• Undertake any other tasks assigned by the superior

1. Responsible for Boiler processes and activities that converting fuel to generate steam for others processes.

2. Perform and manage boiler processes and activities efficiency, in accordance with the works order, specification and approved methods that meet applicable cost, quality, delivery, environmental, safety, legal and others requirement.

3. Resolve, improve and upgrade boiler areas or problems in respective production process and assist in implementation of methods to increase productivity and reduce cost.

4. Monitor and record all related fuel usage and transaction.

5. Monitor and record parameter setting & requirement as per set by Organization or legal authorities.

6. Notify to superior of any problems regarding the boiler activities that they cannot resolve or meet the required specification.

7. Work with Safety & Health Department in solving environmental complaint and ensure countermeasure is being carried out.

8. Ensuring applicable machines and equipment are serviced and properly maintained all the time.

9. Work safely according to Safety SOP.

10. Work GREEN and ensure workplace cleanliness.

11. Ensure and enhance competency, work skill and awareness of fireman that work under at boiler area

12. Ensuring that all applicable processes and requirements of the QMS, EMS and OHSMS are implemented, maintained and continuously being improved.

13. To undertake any other assignment as given by the immediate superior.
