Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a skilled Boiler Operations Assistant for Port Klang Installation (PKI). You will support the Bulking Manager with daily activities, monitor high-risk boiler equipment, and ensure timely maintenance and safety compliance across PKI and SIMIT.

The ideal candidate holds an SPM and Steam Boiler Operator Grade 2 certification, with hands-on knowledge of pressure vessels, palm oil storage, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience with fired and unfired pressure vessels.
• Knowledge of palm oil storage practices and safety.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance programmes for boilers.
• Basic first aid knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bulking Manager on daily PKI operations.
• Monitor high-risk equipment and dispatch palm oil products.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly boiler maintenance.
• Liaise with DOSH during inspections and summarize findings.
• Issue Permit To Work and supervise external vendors at PKI/SIMIT.
• Coordinate with operation team on high-risk equipment usage.
• Supervise storage tank cleaning and general maintenance.
• Oversee daily activities of contract workers and minimize downtime.
• Compile maintenance programmes for PKI & SIMIT machinery.
• Monitor boiler operation and submit daily shutdown reports.
• Ensure safety compliance in boiler operation and maintenance.
• Liaise with chemical water supplier during monthly visits.

Job Description:

Operation

• To assist the Bulking Manager/Executive on daily operational activities for Port Klang Installation (PKI).
• To monitor high risk equipment such as fired and unfired pressure vessels during heating, receive and dispatch palm oil products.
• To perform daily, weekly, monthly and yearly preventive maintenance program related to boilers operations at PKI.
• To assist and liaise with Departmental Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) during periodical inspection visit and summarize and present the findings to management.
• To issue Permit To Work and monitor external vendors during maintenance or repairing job at PKI and SIMIT.
• To coordinate with the operation team during operation related to high-risk equipment such as air compressors that are used at PKI and SIMIT.
• To supervise storage tank cleaning and machinery before, during and after maintenance.
• To supervise overall contract workers’ daily job activities.
• To minimize the downtime issues related to machines.

Documentation

• To check, verify and compile all maintenance programmes for machinery at PKI & SIMIT.
• To monitor boiler operation at PKI and SIMIT.
• To coordinate with submitting necessary daily monitoring report after boiler shut down.
• To ensure all boiler operation and maintenance comply with safety.
• To prepare diesel monthly report for the management.
• To liaise the breakdown report with the operation team.
• To liaise with a chemical water supplier during the monthly visit.

Ideal Candidate

• SPM holder
• Steam Boiler Operator Grade 2
• Technical knowledge and experience of fired and unfired pressure vessel equipment.
• Technical knowledge in palm oil storage.
• Good knowledge of preventive maintenance programme.
• Basic knowledge of first aid programme.
