Island Hospital Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Maintenance Technician to perform Planned Preventive Maintenance on biomedical and electronic equipment in line with MoH Malaysia guidelines.
You will monitor third-party and in-house PPM activities, maintain CMMS records, and support the Biomedical Manager with monthly status reports. Diploma in biomedical engineering and basic electronics knowledge are required.
This role involves carrying out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for biomedical and electronic equipment in accordance with guidelines set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH), ACHS and other local regulatory requirements, as directed by the Biomedical Manager.
Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for biomedical and electronic equipment in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH), ACHS and other local regulatory requirements
Monitor PPM activities conducted by third-party vendors and in-house teams and maintain records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Maintain inventory/records for equipment sent to vendor for repair/PPM and follow up on status to ensure timely delivery after repair/PPM
Update inventory, place orders and verify deliveries
Assist Biomedical Manager to prepare monthly PPM status report to all respective departments within the first week of every month
Verify and carry out T&C according to equipment manufacturer standard
Assist Biomedical Manager to track asset code and install PPM program for all new equipment acquired by Hospital Master List
Liaise with vendors/suppliers on equipment repair, maintenance, PPM, warranty claims, spare parts delivery
Provide regular updates to end users on status of equipment sent for repair
Be involved in continuous safety and performance improvement activities within the service and hospital wide
Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Electronic Engineering, or Certificate in Medical Electronic Engineering or related qualification
Basic electronics technical knowledge
Minimum of 6 months Industrial Training experience related to Biomedical Equipment maintenance services
