KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to manage biomedical equipment through PPM scheduling, cost and risk minimization activities, and to oversee service contracts with vendors.

The role focuses on planning preventive maintenance, monitoring schedules, and ensuring conformance to quality and accreditation standards within KPJ’s hospital network.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Electronic Engineering or related fields (required).
  • Attachment experience at hospitals helps.
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule for biomedical equipment and monitor its progress.
  • Schedule corrective maintenance for faulty equipment.
  • Monitor spare parts changes and manage service contracts with vendors.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning and integration of new medical equipment.

Job description

To manage all biomedical equipment in the hospital through management of PPM service schedule and also cost and risk minimizing activities.

Main Duties / Responsibilities
List in priority order, the tasks normally performed
  • To prepare a Planned Preventive Maintenance service schedule for Biomedical equipment.
  • To monitor the progress of the PPM service schedule.
  • To schedule corrective maintenance service for faulty equipment.
  • To monitor the changing of spare parts.
  • To prepare and manage service contracts with vendors.
  • To oversee the testing and commissioning of new medical equipment and devices.
  • To oversee service vendors within the hospital.
  • To attend internal and external training courses provided.
  • To develop procedures with regards to communication flow.
  • To compile monthly reports on maintenance activities.
  • To process stock requisition
  • To participate in any new service introduced by the organization, and to be involved in all service quality initiative programs
  • To maintain and to ensure conformance to all policies and procedures in regards to quality management system
  • To perform any other duties assigned by the Management
  • Participate actively in any other new service that is introduced
  • Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, JCI Accreditation Standards, MSQH Accreditation Standards, HACCP and / or Hospital Accreditation are adhered to and records maintained, if and when these programs are implemented
  • Ensure to actively participate in all 5S activities
  • Ensure the policies on patient’s and family’s rights are addressed at all times.
  • Ensure compliance to Patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008)
  • Work collaboratively with leaders, clinicians, staff, visitors and patients in the development and promotion of behaviors, environment and patient care solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Degree Biomedical Engineering or Electronic Engineering or any related fields.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Attachment experience at hospitals.

Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
