Job summary

Island Hospital Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Maintenance Technician to perform Planned Preventive Maintenance on biomedical and electronic equipment in line with MoH Malaysia guidelines.

You will monitor third-party and in-house PPM activities, maintain CMMS records, and support the Biomedical Manager with monthly status reports. Diploma in biomedical engineering and basic electronics knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Biomedical Engineering or related qualification.
• Basic electronics technical knowledge.
• Minimum of 6 months Industrial Training experience related to Biomedical Equipment maintenance services.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for biomedical and electronic equipment per guidelines by MOH Malaysia, MSQH, ACHS and local requirements.
• Monitor PPM activities by third-party vendors and in-house teams; maintain CMMS records.
• Maintain inventory/records for equipment sent to vendor for repair/PPM and track status for timely delivery.
• Update inventory, place orders and verify deliveries.
• Assist Biomedical Manager to prepare monthly PPM status reports for departments.
• Verify and carry out testing & commissioning (T&C) according to equipment manufacturer standards.
• Assist Biomedical Manager to track asset codes and install PPM for new equipment on Hospital Master List.
• Liaise with vendors on repair, maintenance, PPM, warranty claims and spare parts delivery.
• Provide regular updates to end users on status of equipment sent for repair.
• Engage in continuous safety and performance improvement activities within the service and hospital.
