BIM Manager / Assistant Manager (Data Centre projects)

Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a BIM Lead to manage all BIM activities across the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of a data centre project. You will coordinate architectural, structural, MEP and ICT models, drive clash detection, and ensure data integrity and BIM execution compliance.

This role supports digital construction and critical delivery in fast-track environments. Collaborate with project managers, engineers and vendors to deliver accurate as-built models and support FM/CMMS

Qualifications

• Experience leading BIM activities across design, construction, testing and commissioning for data centre projects.
• Ability to coordinate architectural, structural, MEP and ICT models with high data integrity and clash-free delivery.
• Familiarity with BIM standards, BEP development, CDE management and Navisworks or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) for the data centre project.
• Establish BIM standards, workflows and modelling protocols aligned with project requirements.
• Lead BIM coordination meetings with consultants, contractors and internal engineers.
• Manage multidisciplinary BIM models (ARC, C&S, MEP, ICT, security, fire protection, containment).
• Perform clash detection and issue resolution using Navisworks or similar tools.
• Coordinate model revisions and ensure accurate federated models for construction.
• Review consultant and contractor BIM deliverables for compliance with specifications.
• Validate accuracy of MEP routing, clearance, power and cooling layouts.
• Work with project managers, planners, engineers and site teams.
• Facilitate design coordination and timely model updates for fast-track data centre builds.
• Liaise with vendors for accurate model integration (UPS, generators, CHW, CRAC/CRAH, switchgear, racks).
• Produce BIM-based shop drawings, isometrics and as-built models for handover.
• Maintain Common Data Environment (CDE) and document control compliance.
• Support construction teams with updated models for installation accuracy.
• Coordinate RFI resolutions through BIM visualization and technical review.
• Assist with T&C planning ensuring accurate spatial and system representation.
• Deliver complete as-built BIM models aligned with owner requirements.
• Ensure asset tagging, metadata accuracy and FM/CMMS integration.
• Support digital twin initiatives where applicable.
• Manage project contract issues and notices and assist the team accordingly.
• Any other duties assigned by Head of Department Engineering Design.
