Job summary

Swagelok Malaysia is seeking a Proposal Engineer to translate customer requirements into value-driven proposals that protect margins while delivering technical accuracy.

You will price non-standard configurations, justify costs, and provide lead times and cost breakdowns to help close deals, emphasizing quality and total cost of ownership over price alone.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science.
• 3–5 years of working experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, or datasheets.
• Product training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and translate them into proposals that meet customer needs while protecting company margin and revenue targets.
• Understand cost structures (materials, labour, cutting, configuration) and price accordingly, including non-standard quantities or modifications.
• Highlight Swagelok's product quality, reliability, and total cost of ownership to justify value over price alone.
• Proposals directly contribute to departmental revenue and gross margin goals.
• Provide technical clarifications, lead times, and cost breakdowns to help close deals.
• Identify situations where standard pricing should be adjusted upward for special configurations, urgent orders, or small quantities and justify accordingly.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering/ Mechanical Engineer/ Material Science, or related field with 3 - 5 years of working experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, or datasheets is an advantage.
