Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Bakery Assistant to join our team in Malaysia. You will support both front-of-house retail service and back-of-house bakery production, measuring ingredients, shaping dough, and assisting with daily display upkeep.

The role involves stock management, safety compliance, and assisting with routine cleaning. Prior retail or food service experience is preferred, and a food handler permit or training is advantageous.

The bakery assistant bridges front-of-house retail service and back-of-house kitchen production. They help head bakers and pastry chefs by handling routine preparation, packaging, and store upkeep so the bakery runs efficiently.

Key responsibilities

Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients, and help shape or knead dough under a baker's direction.

Stock shelves and arrange appealing visual displays of fresh bread, cakes, and pastries.

Monitor stock levels, track ingredient expiry dates, and notify management of low supplies.

Wash baking trays, sanitize display cases, and instruct cleaners to sweep or mop kitchen and retail floors.

About you

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

State-approved food handler permit or food safety training.

Ability to stand for long periods (6+ hours) and lift heavy ingredient bags (25 lbs or more).

Basic math for transactions, strong verbal communication, and a detail-oriented approach to following recipes.

Prior retail or food service experience is preferred.
