Job summary

Maybank Islamic is seeking a technology leader to drive the BaaS platform strategy and architecture in line with Group standards. You will oversee delivery across BaaS components, coordinate with vendors, and ensure secure, compliant cloud operations.

Ideal candidates have senior engineering leadership experience, strong cloud and security expertise, and a track record of delivering scalable financial services platforms in agile environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; experience in technology delivery or engineering leadership.
• Strong hands-on understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS), cloud architecture, microservices, API architectures, and integration frameworks.
• Experience leading engineering teams, delivering in agile models, balancing technical depth with business priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead BaaS platform technology strategy and architecture aligned with Group standards.
• Oversee engineering delivery across BaaS components, manage squads and vendors, ensure high-quality practices.
• Govern cloud, security, and regulatory requirements with audit-ready documentation.
• Maintain platform resilience via SRE and monitoring standards, incident root-cause analysis.
• Manage vendors and external partners, review deliverables, enforce SLAs and standards.
• Drive automation, DevSecOps, and tooling enhancements for reusable patterns.
