Job summary

Randstad Malaysia, based in Penang, is seeking a seasoned engineering professional to lead system architecture, proposal costing and technical presales for complex automation projects. You will bridge technical design with commercial closing to drive project profitability.

The role requires hands-on AutoCAD and 3D simulation skills, strong Excel costing, and knowledge of ASRS, robotics and warehouse controls. Willingness to travel frequently to client sites in the Northern Region is essential.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in technical presales, solution architecture, or automation system design.
Hands-on skills in AutoCAD, 3D simulation tools (FlexSim, Visual Components, or similar), and Excel costing.
Sound knowledge of ASRS, robotics, AGVs, or warehouse control systems.
Willingness to travel frequently to client sites across the Northern Region.

Responsibilities

Conduct site surveys to map factory throughput, capacity needs, and equipment sizing.
Design 2D layouts and create 3D simulation models for proposed system concepts.
Prepare accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), cost structures, and margin analysis.
Identify technical execution risks during the proposal stage to protect project margins.
Present technical solutions and capability decks alongside the sales team.
