Job summary

Carro is seeking a Body & Paint Estimator in Penang, Malaysia. You will inspect accident-damaged vehicles, estimate repair costs (labour, parts, repainting) and determine whether to repair or replace damaged parts.

You will handle insurance claims, prepare assessment reports, and liaise with insurers and workshop teams to resolve cost discrepancies. Evaluate repair feasibility versus market value and salvage value for total-loss cases.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in automotive workshops or insurance assessment.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle body damage and paint processes.
• Hands-on experience with insurance claims processing.
• Ability to appraise labour, parts and quotations accurately.
• Excellent analytical and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect accident-damaged vehicles and assess structural, mechanical, body and paint damage.
• Prepare accurate repair cost estimates, including labour, spare parts and repainting.
• Determine whether damaged parts should be repaired or replaced.
• Handle insurance claims, prepare assessment reports and recommend repair costs.
• Liaise with insurance companies, body shop managers and workshop teams to resolve cost discrepancies.
