Job summary

CACEIS Malaysia seeks an Associate Director in Custody – Tax Operations to build and lead the Tax Services function across markets, enabling a global follow-the-sun service. Based in IOI City, Putrajaya, you will set strategy, frameworks and performance metrics while guiding a high-performing team.

You will collaborate with Europe and the Americas, ensuring compliance, strong controls, and client-centric delivery in a dynamic financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in Asset Servicing, Tax operations.
• Strong understanding of Tax operations in key European and American markets.
• Experience leading a team of 8 or more and grooming junior staff.
• Excellent command of English with clear stakeholder communication.
• Ability to drive accountability, problem-solving and timely delivery.
• Strong sense of urgency, escalation management, and controls adherence.
• Results-oriented leadership with empathetic people management.

Responsibilities

• Review and submit tax documents to ensure clients’ tax status is compliant.
• Engage with tax authorities and adhere to guidelines across markets.
• Design and maintain frameworks for tracking tax operations processes.
• Deliver services aligned with objectives using data-driven decision making.
• Engage clients and stakeholders on tax matters in a timely manner.
• Build and develop a high-performance tax services team with regular reviews.
• Collaborate with Global Custody peers to shape operating model and governance.
• Identify and mitigate risk, ensure compliance across processes.
