Job summary

BGC Development Sdn. Bhd.

invites applications for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Quantity Surveyor with take-offs from construction drawings and tender drawings, and to prepare measurement sheets and cost comparisons. You will conduct monthly site measurements to verify progress, assist in subcontractor payment claims and VO checks, liaise with suppliers, keep thorough filing, and help update project cost records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Familiar with quantity take-off, reading and analyzing drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.
• Able to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication, coordination and follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Quantity Surveyor in taking off quantities from construction and tender drawings.
• Assist in preparing measurement sheets, quantity calculations, and cost comparisons.
• Conduct monthly site assessments and site measurements to verify subcontractors’ work progress.
• Assist in preparing subcontractors’ payment claims and progress claims.
• Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors on quotations, pricing, and supporting documents.
• Assist in checking subcontractors’ claims, Variation Orders, costing, and supporting documents.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation for subcontractor claims, VO, costing records, quotations, and other project-related documents.
• Assist in preparing and updating project cost records when required.
• Perform other QS-related duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
