Job summary

Dwisolar Sdn Bhd is seeking a BIM Specialist to produce and coordinate advanced 3D BIM models and 2D drawings for Fire Protection and related systems. You will work with Design Engineers and MEP teams to ensure model accuracy, clash-free coordination, and complete documentation.

The role requires hands-on experience with Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, with a focus on BEP compliance and timely delivery. Strong teamwork and ability to work under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum certificate/diploma/degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Building Services or drafting qualification.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit (Architecture/Structure/MEP), Navisworks, AutoCAD.
• Experience with BIM coordination, model checks, and clash resolution.

Responsibilities

• Produce complex 3D BIM models and 2D drawings with detailed dimensions and MEP routing.
• Coordinate BIM data from Design Engineers and MEP teams for accurate shop drawings.
• Review BIM models for accuracy, clash-free coordination, and completeness before release.
• Ensure on-time delivery of BIM models and drawings per project schedule.
• Take ownership of BIM models and drawings and maintain QA/QC.
• Collaborate on BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and modeling standards.
• Support QHSE procedures and ISO compliance in engineering deliverables.

Job description

Role: Responsible to produce, coordinate, and manage 3D BIM models and 2D extraction drawings in accordance with project requirements and BIM standards.

Responsibilities:

Display a working knowledge of industry standard BIM drafting practices, good mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aptitude, and general knowledge of engineering.

Produce complex 3D BIM modeling and designing assignments and review BIM models and drawings for accuracy, clash-free coordination, and completeness.

Provide detailed BIM models and drawings that include dimensions, procedures, required materials, and complete MEP system routing, often consulting Design Engineer/BIM Coordinator regarding design and layouts.

Coordinate information from Design Engineers and MEP teams and incorporate it into 3D models, coordinated shop drawings, and schematics.

Collaborate with Design Engineer and BIM Coordinator regarding BIM execution plans (BEP), modeling standards, model accuracy, and design documentation.

Ensure appropriate checking, clash detection, and review of BIM models and extracted drawings before release at any revision status to Design Engineer.

Take ownership of BIM models and engineering drawings produced and their quality.

Ensure timely delivery of BIM models and engineering drawings as per project schedule.

Responsible in Engineering Dept. process.

Others

To undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the superior.

QHSE Responsibilities

Quality and HSE procedures as per the ISO are being adhered to and understood at all times, and they are being communicated to staff/subordinates.

Accountabilities:

Produce and review BIM models and design drawings to ensure correctness and accuracy in form, fit, and function, including mechanical, electrical, and fire protection layouts.

Co-ordinate with PM/PE and main contractors for site coordination, spatial clearance, and combined services drawings (CSD).

Ensure Engineering Design and BIM deliverables are delivered on time.

Authorities:

To initiate and complete such actions as may be necessary for the fulfillment of assigned responsibilities as mentioned above.

Reports to Engineering Manager.

Education Qualification:

Minimum Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural, Building Services, or drafting qualification (Draughtsman / BIM Certification).

Skills and/or Experience:

Must be familiar with Autodesk Revit (Architecture/Structure/MEP), Navisworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications, and PDF markup tools.

Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in Fire Protection Systems (Sprinkler Systems, Wet/Dry Risers, Hose Reel, Hydrant, Gas Suppression Systems, and Alarm/Detection systems) will be a huge advantage.

Troubleshooting and hands-on skills in BIM clash resolution and model coordination.

Teamwork, aggressive, proactive, and willing to learn new things.

Working under pressure with minimum supervision from superior.
