You will work with clients, contractors and internal teams, supporting documentation, site inspections, and project reporting. The role offers a clear path to develop technical skills in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at TABALAN DAGANG SDN BHD. This is a full-time position based in Sungai Buloh, Selangor. In this role, you will support the delivery of engineering projects, assisting senior engineers in planning, designing, and executing projects from conception through to completion. You will play a key part in ensuring projects meet quality standards, timelines and budget requirements whilst contributing to the technical excellence of our organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in project planning, scheduling and resource allocation under the guidance of senior project engineers
• Support the preparation of technical documentation, drawings, specifications and project reports
• Conduct site inspections and monitor project progress to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate effective project communication
• Assist in identifying and resolving technical issues and engineering challenges that arise during project execution
• Support the development and maintenance of project budgets and cost tracking documentation
• Contribute to risk assessment and mitigation strategies for assigned projects
• Assist with quality control and assurance activities to maintain project standards
• Maintain accurate project records, documentation and databases
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the project engineering function

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional qualification
• 0-2 years of experience in project engineering, site engineering or a related field
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, practices and project management fundamentals
• Proficiency in using project management software, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
• Strong organisational and time management abilities with attention to detail
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow instructions from senior engineers
• Knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
• Willingness to undertake site visits and field work as required
• Preferred: Experience in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering projects; familiarity with building information modelling (BIM) tools
