Job summary

Kejuruteraan Powerwell Sdn Bhd is seeking a fabrication-focused engineer/supervisor in Shah Alam. You will coordinate with planning and fabrication teams, monitor progress, and ensure drawings and parts meet fabrication requirements.

The role requires a degree in engineering, strong planning skills, and proficiency with drawings, BOMs, and ERP/MRP tools. Fresh graduates are welcome; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; 1–3 years’ experience is an added advantage.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and technical specs.
• Familiar with production planning, material coordination, and problem-solving tools such as 5 Why.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with BPC and Fabrication Supervisors to provide fabrication lead time.
• Monitor daily fabrication progress and output to ensure schedule adherence.
• Liaise with Product Designer to ensure drawings meet fabrication requirements.
• Provide engineering support to fabrication to ensure parts are as required.
• Implement 5S and ISO standards in fabrication processes.
• Carry out QA/QC functions and investigate root causes to derive resolutions.
• Prepare and maintain work instructions and workflow for stabilization.

Job description

Coordinate with Business Planning and Control (BPC) and Fabrication Supervisors to provide reasonable fabrication lead time.

Monitor daily fabrication progress and output to ensure fabrication as per schedule.

Liaise with Product Designer to ensure drawings are prepared as per fabrication requirement.

Provide engineering support to fabrication to ensure parts fabricate as per requirement.

Provides training and coaching to Fabrication Supervisors and Operators to accomplish fabrication goals.

Implement good reporting of fabrication progress, work in process, and standard parts inventory.

Monitor fabrication material usage, and wastage to ensure no abnormality.

Perform inventory stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies.

Sourcing of specialty materials, components and tools, trigger purchase requisition as per fabrication needs.

Liaise with subcontractors to ensure outsource projects can meet our cost and schedule.

Ensure all machines and equipment are maintained as per the check sheet and maintenance schedule.

Liaise with suppliers in the event of machine and equipment breakdown or service as per schedule.

Prepare Work Instruction and Workflow to ensure fabrication stabilization.

Investigate problems, analyze root causes, and derive resolutions.

Carry out QA/QC functions in the fabrication process.

Identify process improvements opportunities to enhance productivity, cost effectiveness, quality, and safety in fabrication processes.

Implement and ensure all fabrication processes meet 5S requirements and ISO standards (quality and safety).

Prepare minutes of meeting and distribute to relevant person.

Evaluate new fabrication machines and equipment specifications, performance, cost and return of investment.

Other duties and task given by Management from time to time.

Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; candidates with 1–3 years’ experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, fabrication, or electrical switchboard industry will be an added advantage.

Basic understanding of production processes, work instructions, quality control, and workplace safety requirements.

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOM), wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

Familiar with production planning, material coordination, productivity monitoring, and problem-solving tools such as 5 Why and root cause analysis.

Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.

Able to coordinate effectively with Production, Engineering, QAQC, BPC, Store, Purchasing, and Project teams.

Good communication, teamwork, and reporting skills.

Detail-oriented, organised, proactive, and able to work under pressure to meet production schedules.

Willing to work in Shah Alam / assigned production site and perform overtime when operationally required.
