Job summary

Kobay Technology Bhd. is seeking a Production Supervisor in Penang to oversee daily sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, bending, punching, welding and finishing.

You will coordinate manpower, machines and materials to meet schedules and ensure quality and safety standards. Candidates should have 3–5 years in sheet metal fabrication or related supervision, with Lean/Kaizen experience and ISO knowledge.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Production Management or Industrial Technology is an advantage.
• 3–5 years in sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining or production supervision.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory role within manufacturing.
• Hands-on knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (cutting, bending, punching, welding, finishing).
• Experience in production planning and scheduling (manpower, machine, material).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen, waste reduction and process improvement.
• Ability to interpret drawings and tolerances and understand ISO/quality standards.
• Knowledge of CNC / press brake setup and drawing interpretation.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
• Good QA methods, defect prevention and workplace safety.
• Strong leadership, team development, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, punching, welding and finishing.

• Support the Production Manager in overall production planning and shop-floor execution.

Requirements

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Production Management or Industrial Technology will be an added advantage.

3-5 years of practical experience in sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining or production supervision.

At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team‑lead role within a manufacturing environment.

Hands‑on knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, punching, welding and finishing.

Experience in production planning and scheduling, including manpower, machine and material coordination.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen practices, waste reduction and process improvement.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and tolerances and understand ISO/quality standards.

Knowledge of CNC / press brake setup and drawing interpretation.

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.

Good understanding of QA methods, defect prevention and workplace safety.
