Job summary

Mi Equipment is seeking a Kaizen Coordinator in Penang, Malaysia, to support and coordinate Kaizen implementation across the production floor. You will manage documentation control, ensure adherence to Kaizen and 5S standards, and drive continuous improvement projects with the manufacturing team.

The role requires a Diploma/Bachelor’s in Engineering, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while collaborating with design and production teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics or equivalent).
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a manufacturing environment.

Job description

Documented SOP, DCN, ECN, Kaizen, 5S, improvement and all production process control related documentation

Monitor the Sales/Service feedback on quality issues and compile chart to show quality improvement

As Kaizen Coordinator to support and coordinate Kaizen implementation process

Provides support towards department manager and Kaizen event owner on project implementation workflow and processes.

Carry out Kaizen's briefing and meetings to the entire Manufacturing division's department

In charge of production process with documentation control

Documentation control logging and generating control document number

Perform FOL Production process improvement project of Centralized Assembly Reference
System (CARS) station

Use initiative to progress CARS implementation in accordance with needs

Keep work area clean and organized for increased safety and productivity

Keep all tools in good working order and operate with guards in place and wear any applicable safety equipment

Perform CARS’s data consolidation with latest or up-to-date information such as wiring diagrams, mechanical e-drawing and any production useful reference documentation obtain initiatively from design/engineering/internal production/outsource team

Perform proper control, validation and checking of documentation submitted by document owner

Perform checking upon completion of Kaizen and may trigger department manager & Kaizen event owner for next steps

Oversee Kaizen implementation process and may follow-up with Kaizen event owner to enhance Kaizen implementation/improvement projects process and flow. Drive for Kaizen, 5S inspection with checklist and Centralize Assembly Reference System implementation which align with FOL Production Strategy

Support QA requests on proper record retention and documentation control

Provide guidance, mentoring and training to new/junior team member/colleague

Ensure implementation and evolution of safety procedures and ensure that health and safety
guidelines are followed

Ensure the continuous implementation of 5S, workplace management and housekeeping standards

Ensure the continuous implementation of Kaizen improvement provided with standard/proper
documentation and report/review with department manager every 2 weeks for completion and ready to accept advise of changes

May work closely with internal Manufacturing team for any Kaizen/improvement/5S projects

Ensuring self-manage work team to carry out accordingly

Control and monitor of production related documentation

Undertake other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned by the Company from time to time with on time full closure

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Computer/ Electrical/
Electronics/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics or equivalent)

Skilled and knowledge of Production Process/ industrial computer/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical assembly and/or camera vision

Flexible attitude and good interpersonal skills

Energy and drive to meet and exceed requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, willing to learn and work hard

Ability to trouble shoot & solve technical problems and work independently

Willing to work long hour and during after office hour, off day and weekend when needed & got any urgent cases

Extra skill needed: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Required languages: Malay, English and Chinese.
