About the role

Aegis Dynamics Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Mechanic to join our growing mechanical engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Melaka Tengah, Melaka. In this role, you will support our senior mechanics and engineering staff in the maintenance, repair, and assembly of mechanical systems and equipment. You will play a vital part in ensuring our operations run smoothly and that all mechanical components meet our high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior mechanics in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery
• Perform routine inspections and diagnostics on mechanical systems to identify issues and potential problems
• Support the assembly and disassembly of mechanical components and equipment
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory
• Clean, lubricate, and service mechanical equipment according to established procedures
• Assist in the troubleshooting of mechanical faults and support corrective actions
• Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical testing equipment safely and effectively
• Comply with all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised work environment
• Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programmes
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical engineering department

What we're looking for

• A relevant qualification or certification in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or a related mechanical discipline
• Hands‑on experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, or assembly work
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical equipment
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• A commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks
• Willingness to learn and develop your technical skills
• Preferred: Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
