Job summary

E-CAST INDUSTRIES SDN. BHD. is seeking an Assistant Manager / Senior Executive to lead planning and inventory control in Penang. You will develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule, balance forecast, inventory levels, and capacity to support on-time delivery.

You will collaborate with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams, monitor performance, optimize BOM accuracy, and drive cycle counts and KPI reporting for improved throughput and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, inventory management, supply chain, or logistics within a manufacturing environment (die casting, machining preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proven experience in managing and motivating teams to achieve operational goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule based on sales forecast, inventory levels, and production capacity.
• Monitor daily production performance and adjust schedules to meet evolving priorities and operational demands.
• Analyze production capacity, manpower, and machine utilization to identify bottlenecks and improve throughput.
• Collaborate with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure material readiness and smooth production flow.
• Coordinate release of work orders and verify accuracy of bill of materials (BOM) and routing data for production execution.
• Provide timely updates on customer forecast KPIs and On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance.
• Support implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and perpetual inventory system management.
• Prepare and present reports on key inventory KPIs.
• Optimize warehouse layout and storage strategies for better accessibility.
• Communicate with suppliers on order status, delivery schedules, and discrepancies.
