Job summary

Hicom Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Head of Production to lead casting and machining operations, enhancing capability and capacity to meet customer requirements. You will drive production planning, implement lean initiatives and optimize processes and maintenance across the shop floor.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical/manufacturing engineering, at least 10 years in production, and experience with smart manufacturing and forecasting. Automotive/diecasting exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in production or manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of process implementation, smart manufacturing, production forecasting and engineering processes.
• Exposure to aluminium diecasting products or automotive industry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and improve the operation of casting and machining productions to meet customer needs and expectations.
• Develop production forecasts based on sales and financial plans; coordinate production planning and scheduling; strive for minimum inventory via lean/JIT.
• Standardize and implement effective casting and machining processes and maintenance; ensure training and competency programs for the team.
• Assess and implement Production Management Systems (e.g., TPM, World Class Manufacturing) and tailor to organizational needs for quality and productivity.
• Ensure optimal human asset effectiveness through competency, commitment and motivation aligned with company values.
• Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes, systems and personnel for quality, productivity and cost gains.
