The Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance leads the QA team's daily operations, ensuring food products and services meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards across outlets. This role supervises QA Executives and works with operations to uphold the restaurant's quality and food safety standards.
Supervise and coach the QA Executive team, assigning audits and reviewing their findings.
Set performance goals and support the team's development through regular check-ins.
Handle escalated or high-risk quality and safety issues.
Oversee and periodically lead audits of food preparation areas, storage, and equipment across outlets.
Review audit findings, identify systemic gaps, and prioritize fixes with operations.
Approve and track CAPA plans through to closure, including re-testing.
Oversee investigation of non-compliance incidents and customer complaints, stepping in on escalated cases.
Review root cause analyses and CAPA plans to prevent recurrence.
Track complaint trends and report improvement outcomes to management.
Design and oversee training on food safety standards and QA best practices for operations teams.
Keep training content current with regulatory changes and evaluate its effectiveness.
Oversee pest control programs across stores, ensuring timely follow-up on preventive measures.
Consolidate food safety and quality data across stores into reports for management.
Identify trends in quality issues and drive corrective actions to address root causes.
Ensure ongoing compliance with food safety regulations, including HACCP and GMP, across outlets.
Oversee audit and inspection documentation to keep stores audit-ready.
Plan and track QA activities to ensure consistent quality, safety, and service standards.
Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and vendors (e.g. pest control, testing labs).
Partner with Operations on quality and safety implications of new products or process changes.
Support budget planning and resource allocation for QA activities.
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
4-6 years of QA experience in food service, including 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
Proficient in quality management systems and data analysis tools.
Solid knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP) and best practices.
HACCP certification is an advantage.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop a team.
Analytical, with excellent attention to detail in food safety and hygiene.
Strong communicator, able to influence store teams, operations, and management.
Proactive and self-driven, able to work independently across multiple stores.
Calm under pressure, able to manage tight timelines and urgent issues.
Honest and ethical in reporting findings and upholding standards.
Flexible and willing to travel frequently between outlets.
