Job summary

SOGO (KL) Department Store Sdn Bhd (SEIBU TRX) seeks an experienced M&E Engineer to oversee maintenance and facilities management across its five store locations in Malaysia. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, at least 8 years in M&E, and strong leadership for decentralized teams.

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of building codes, life-safety systems, and energy management, with willingness to travel and respond to emergencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Valid Chargeman BO Certificate is a distinct advantage; energy management certification preferred.
• Minimum 8 years in M&E engineering, preferably within retail malls or multi-site commercial properties.
• Proven track record of managing and scheduling decentralized technical teams across multiple locations.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian building codes, Bomba certifications, OSHA guidelines, and DOSH/JKKP mandates.
• Deep expertise in high-tension electrical systems, central HVAC plants, generators, and life-safety systems.
• Willingness to travel frequently across all 5 store locations.
• Flexibility to respond to critical M&E emergencies outside of standard working hours.
• Professional verbal and written proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
