CapitaLand Retail Malaysia is seeking a maintenance technician to perform a variety of M&E and building maintenance tasks within the mall environment. You will handle electrical tasks, attend tenants’ requests, and ensure all systems operate reliably and safely.
The role requires a Diploma/Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years’ experience, and preference for AO Chargeman certification. Willingness to work long hours and shifts is expected.

Perform variety of maintenance and electrical functions for the efficient and smooth operation of all M & E system as well as to ensure that all systems and equipment within the mall are in good condition.
Perform any electrical or technical assignments assigned by the superiors. Work closely with superior on the job assignments.Refer to the superior for further advice or guidance in the event of any problems or difficulties.
Carry out post-repairs or installation checking to ensure that the installation concerned is in good condition.
Attend to tenants’ requests, feedback or complaints on M & E related matters, e.g. electrical trip, breakdown, etc. Perform hands‑on troubleshooting or repair jobs based on the requests or complaints and in accordance with the standard operations procedures.
Carry out routine and preventive maintenance for office tools, machines and equipment.Attend and solve day‑to‑day activities on company’s tools and equipment.
Perform systematic serving of equipment and carry out minor repairs or trouble‑shouting works if so required. Monitor term contractors in their routine servicing.
Perform monthly checks on the fire extinguishers to prevent any discharges and fire‑hose reel boxes to prevent spoilage.
Provide support in the Car Park operations which include system, equipment, Parking Guidance System (PGS) and daily collection in accordance with the schedule.
Perform variety of building maintenance functions and to ensure that all building facilities are maintained at high standards resulting to a successful and lasting building.
Perform any building maintenance assignments assigned by the superiors. Work closely with superior on the job assignments.Refer to the superior for further advice or guidance in the event of any problems or difficulties.
Prepare and paint walls and woodwork or perform other types of refinish; install carpet and perform custodial duties as required.
Perform any other functions of building maintenance in regards to cement works, carpentry, plumbing, staining and varnishing, faucet repair, caulking, measuring, sewage disposal, sanitary service, etc.
Attend to tenants’ requests, feedback or complaints on building related matters, e.g. leaks, cracking, damp, clogged drain, etc. Perform hands‑on troubleshooting or repair jobs based on the requests or complaints and in accordance with the standard operations procedures.
Perform systematic serving of equipment and carry out minor repairs or trouble‑shouting works if so required. Monitor term contractors in their routine servicingsuch as major repair works, grease trip service, etc.
Diploma or Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent / Secondary Higher Qualification preferably form Vocational School.
Possess of an AO Chargeman Certification from Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysiawould be an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in maintenance of M & E systems and/or building maintenance, preferably in shopper complex environment or service industry.
Possess good technical knowledge and hands‑on skills in electrical and mechanical and/or building maintenance. Well verse with the operation and maintenance of equipment in the area of expertise.
Ability to troubleshoot by effectively determining the causes of operating errors or defects and carry out the relevant rectification works using the appropriate tools and equipment.
Computer literate with ability to write short reports.
Honest, reliable and self‑motivated.
Possess a mature and responsible attitude to work.
Be able to work under minimum supervision with sense of responsibility and urgency.
Able to work long hours and during weekends and Public Holidays as well as to rotate on shifts.
