Job summary

DK-MY Properties Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Manager, Legal to support the Group’s legal matters and coordinate between the Company and external solicitors. The role provides practical legal advice to Management and internal departments, reviews agreements, and manages deadlines and fees.

The ideal candidate holds a law degree and 4–7 years of relevant experience in property, real estate, or corporate law, with strong drafting and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
• Preferably 4–7 years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience in property development, real estate, construction, conveyancing, commercial or corporate matters will be an advantage.
• In-house legal or law firm experience is preferred.
• Good knowledge of contract drafting, property matters, commercial law and dispute management.
• Familiarity with housing development act, national land code, strata management act and companies act will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main liaison between the Company and external solicitors on litigation, conveyancing, corporate and contractual matters.
• Review legal issues internally and determine whether matters can be resolved in-house or require external legal support.
• Provide practical legal advice to Management and internal departments.
• Draft and review agreements, notices, letters of demand, tenancy agreements, service agreements, NDAs and other commercial documents.
• Review contracts and legal documents prepared by external solicitors before Management approval.
• Monitor legal cases, deadlines, external legal fees and follow-up actions.
• Support property development, land, conveyancing, construction and commercial-related legal matters.
• Coordinate disputes, claims, recovery actions and litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and provide recommendations to Management.
• Maintain proper legal records, agreements, case tracking and documentation.
• Monitor regulatory and legal developments affecting the Company.
• Support internal policies, SOPs, corporate matters and other legal assignments as required.

The role will provide practical legal advice to Management and internal departments, review legal and contractual matters, monitor cases handled by external lawyers, and resolve straightforward legal issues internally where appropriate to minimise unnecessary legal costs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide practical legal advice to Management and internal departments.

Draft and review agreements, notices, letters of demand, tenancy agreements, service agreements, NDAs and other commercial documents.

Review contracts and legal documents prepared by external solicitors before Management approval.

Monitor legal cases, deadlines, external legal fees and follow-up actions.

Support property development, land, conveyancing, construction and commercial-related legal matters.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.

Preferably 4–7 years of relevant legal experience.

Experience in property development, real estate, construction, conveyancing, commercial or corporate matters will be an advantage.

In-house legal or law firm experience is preferred.

Good knowledge of contract drafting, property matters, commercial law and dispute management.

Familiarity with the Housing Development Act, National Land Code, Strata Management Act and Companies Act will be advantageous.

Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.

Able to work independently, manage multiple legal matters and coordinate effectively with external lawyers and internal stakeholders.

Practical, commercially aware and cost-conscious in handling legal matters.
