Job summary

SEA Gamer Mall Sdn Bhd is seeking a Legal Assistant Manager to provide timely, practical, and commercially focused legal support across the business in Malaysia and other markets.

The role will support the Legal function in managing commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory matters, legal risks, disputes and general legal advisory work, while working closely with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university.
• Admitted to the Malaysian Bar is an added advantage but not compulsory.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant in-house or commercial experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and corporate law.
• Experience with regulatory and compliance matters.
• Proven contract drafting, review and negotiation skills.
• Excellent legal research, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job description

The Legal Assistant Manager is responsible for providing timely, practical and commercially focused legal support to the Company across its business operations. The role will support the Legal function in managing commercial contracts, corporate and regulatory matters, legal risks, disputes and general legal advisory work, while working closely with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel. The role is expected to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions, identify and mitigate legal risks, and support the Company's business expansion and strategic initiatives in Malaysia and other relevant markets.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and other legal documents.
• Provide day-to-day legal advice to business and support functions.
• Assist with corporate, regulatory, compliance and licensing matters.
• Identify and advise on legal and contractual risks.

About you

• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an in-house, commercial, technology, fintech or e-commerce environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admitted to the Malaysian Bar is added advantage but not compulsory.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and corporate law.
• Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Strong contract drafting, review and negotiation skills.
• Good legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Commercially minded with good judgement and attention to detail.
