Job description

The Assistant Manager, Forwarding is responsible for assisting the Forwarding Manager in overseeing daily forwarding operations, coordinating team activities, managing customer requirements, and ensuring operational efficiency in achieving departmental objectives. The role supports business development, sales activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure service quality, customer satisfaction, and compliance with Company standards.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in identifying new business opportunities, preparing tender analysis, developing logistics solutions, and coordinating pricing proposals to meet customer requirements and financial targets.

Supervise and coordinate day-to-day forwarding operations, customer liaison, and departmental activities to ensure achievement of operational KPIs.

Oversee import and export activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely processing of shipping documentation and shipments.

Support the achievement of sales targets for Freight Forwarding (Air & Sea), Import and Export, Transport, and Container Division businesses.

Coordinate sales activities and collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify business opportunities and support business growth initiatives.

Liaise with customers to address enquiries, complaints, and feedback, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate corrective actions.

Monitor existing operational procedures and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and service quality.

Ensure operational processes are carried out in accordance with established procedures, Company standards, and customer service requirements.

Assist in supervising, guiding, and monitoring the operations team in task allocation, work planning, and daily operational execution.

Promote teamwork, effective communication, and collaboration within the Forwarding Department and with other departments.

Assist in addressing workplace concerns and resolving operational or team-related issues to maintain a positive and productive working environment.

Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Forwarding Manager or Management from time to time.
