Job summary

Press Metal is seeking an Assistant Manager, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) in Malaysia to lead EHS policy development, audits and compliance across sites. You will support the implementation of group EHS strategies, provide guidance to entity teams and monitor regulatory and ISO 14001/45001 compliance.

The role requires a Degree in OSH or related fields and 5–6 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, with strong English and Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in OSH, Environmental Eng, Engineering or Science.
• 5–6 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or heavy industry preferred.
• Solid knowledge of occupational safety, health and environmental legislation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and standardise Group EHS policies, procedures and programmes.
• Provide technical guidance to entity EHS teams.
• Monitor compliance with legal, Group and ISO 14001/45001 requirements.
• Coordinate Group EHS audits, risk assessments and corrective actions.
• Review incidents, investigations and preventive actions.
• Analyse EHS performance and propose improvements.
• Prepare reports for Management and support training.

Job Purpose:

Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Group EHS strategies, policies and management systems.

Provide corporate oversight and technical guidance to entity EHS teams to ensure consistent implementation of Group and regulatory requirements.

Monitor Group EHS performance, risks and compliance status and recommend improvement actions.

Coordinate Group-level EHS audits, reporting, capability building and cross-entity improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and standardise Group EHS policies, procedures and programmes.

Provide technical guidance and support to entity EHS teams.

Monitor compliance with legal, Group and ISO 14001/45001 requirements.

Coordinate Group EHS audits, risk assessments and corrective-action follow-up.

Review significant incidents, investigation findings and preventive actions.

Analyse Group EHS performance and recommend improvement initiatives.

Prepare reports for Management and support training and knowledge sharing.

Undertake other duties assigned by Management.

Key Qualifications:

Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.

At least five (5) to six (6) years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing or heavy industry.

Good knowledge of applicable occupational safety, health and environmental legislation.

Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and corporate EHS management systems.

Experience in EHS audits, incident investigations, risk management and performance reporting.

Experience coordinating EHS matters across multiple sites or business entities is an advantage.

Relevant professional registration or competency certification is an added advantage.

Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.

Strong analytical, communication, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.

Willing to travel to operating entities when required.
