The EHS Technician conducts daily workplace safety inspections across production areas, facilities, and designated work areas to identify unsafe conditions, hazards, and potential workplace risks. The role involves monitoring compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards, while maintaining accurate records and supporting emergency preparedness and environmental management activities.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct daily workplace safety inspections across production areas, facilities, and designated work areas
- Identify unsafe conditions, unsafe practices, hazards, and potential workplace risks
- Report high-risk conditions and significant safety concerns immediately to the relevant supervisor or EHS personnel
- Monitor compliance with workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, safety signage, and housekeeping standards
- Follow up on safety inspection findings and corrective actions to ensure timely closure
- Maintain accurate records of workplace inspections, findings, and corrective actions
- Support safety awareness activities, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and EHS campaigns
- Participate in fire drills, emergency response drills, evacuation exercises, and other EHS-related activities
- Monitor workplace environmental controls and ensure relevant environmental requirements are followed
- Support the management, handling, storage, and disposal of scheduled/regulated waste
About you
- Diploma or Certificate in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or other related technical fields
- 1-2 years of working experience in EHS, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, or a manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge or training in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Management, Fire Safety, and Emergency ResponseKnowledge of fire protection and firefighting systems
- Knowledge of scheduled/regulated waste handling and management
- Knowledge of industrial effluent systems and environmental controls
- Knowledge of chemical storage, handling, and spill prevention practices
- Ability to conduct workplace inspections and accurately identify hazards and unsafe practices
- Ability to maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and documentation
- Good communication, interpersonal, and follow-up skills
