Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Logistics/Inventory Manager to oversee inbound flow of goods, coordinate with forwarders and customs, and ensure on-time shipments while optimizing landed costs.

You will analyze stock levels using SAP and BI data, collaborate with the Sales Team, and drive process improvements to reduce costs and improve service levels in a FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain/logistics or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of logistics experience in FMCG sectors.
• Strong analytical and data-management capabilities.
• Proficient with SAP, MicroStrategy, and WMS/TMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate purchase price, quantity, and on-time shipment.
• Manage inflow of goods with internal teams and forwarders.
• File local documentation and declarations for customs release.
• Coordinate shipment clearance with customs brokers and forwarders.
• Monitor inventory and perform landed cost accruals using SAP.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to optimize cost and delivery terms.
• Serve as communication hub between Sales, fulfilment and logistics providers.

• Manages Inflow of Goods including flow of documents from the point of container departure, arrival at destination port, discharged from the ship, cleared from port, trucking to warehouse, offloaded at warehouse, and return of empty container within targeted lead time at optimum cost.
• Manages inventory in a way to meet qualified customer demand while also meeting Company inventory target. This role will use forecasts from the sales team and data from SAP and BI on existing inventory, sales history, and open orders to ensure accurate inventory planning. This function will work closely and in co-ordination with the Sales Team and internal Team.

Key Roles/ Responsibilities

• Ensure the accuracy of purchase price, quantity, and on-time shipment (as per demand)
• Manage Inflow of Goods with internal Team and Forwarders.
• Manage and ensure proper filing of local documentation and declarations as needed for custom release, and in line with government regulation and company policy.
• Manage shipment clearance with customs broker and/ or forwarder to ensure timely clearance.
• Manage trucking to warehouse prior to Last Free Day to avoid Port Storage, Demurrage and/or Detention.
• Prompt and accurate SAP inventory recording and accrual of estimated Landed Cost.
• Handle claims on shipments as needed.
• Authorize and/or dispute Shipper and Logistics Provider payments for accounting.
• Negotiate and manage contract agreements with suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness, quality standards and beneficial delivery terms.
• Manages all Logistics Providers’ contract including expected Service Level with structure business performance review.
• Consolidation of forecast, supply, inventory in-transit, on-hand inventory, sales history, and open orders to ensure complete order fulfilments including loss tree analysis for all unfulfilled orders.
• Monitor days-on-hand inventory against target and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Manage slow-moving and obsolete stocks (SLOB) by highlighting slow and non-moving stocks to the Business to generate appropriate actions.
• Stock reconciliation between SAP and 3PL and identifying improvement opportunities.
• This role function as pivotal communication point for Supply and Fulfilment constraints between Sales and internal Team.
• Key interface between numerous parties to proactively take action that deliver business results.
• Develop and implement process improvements with focus on process efficiency and cost savings.
• Controlling the departmental operations budget and monitoring expenses, and initiate continuous cost saving initiatives.
• Prompt submission of all reporting with accurate data.

Skills/ Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any stream with Supply Chain Management/ Logistics Management/ Business or related field equivalent combination of education and work experience in the logistics industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of logistics experiences in FMCG (Foods and Home Care).
• Should possess good analytical skills, should be Self-starter in data management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, MicroStrategy, Warehouse Management System, Transport Management System.
• Excellent in Excel with strong skills in Analytical, Decision Making and Problem Solving.
• Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
• Good communications skill with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally.
