Job summary

JTA Tours (M) Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur seeks a dedicated Tour Operations Coordinator to oversee safety, quality control, and the smooth execution of itineraries in Malaysia.

You will work closely with local staff, tour guides, drivers, hotels, and Japanese partners to ensure reliable operations, timely responses to issues, and high guest satisfaction. The role also covers cost management, supplier negotiations, and inbound tourism development from Japan.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all tour operations are carried out safely and smoothly, with guest safety as the top priority.
• Identify potential risks and take appropriate action to prevent accidents, delays, and other issues during tours.
• Work closely with local staff, tour guides, drivers, hotels, and other suppliers to ensure smooth tour operations.
• Review guest feedback and complaints, identify areas for improvement, and take action to maintain and improve service quality.
• Supervise the daily work and progress of local staff in Malaysia and ensure that tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate communication and information sharing between the Malaysia office and the sales team in Japan.
• Support staff development, improve work efficiency, and encourage effective teamwork.
• Manage operating costs and profit margins while maintaining competitive pricing.
• Work with local suppliers to negotiate suitable rates and provide cost-effective travel services.
• Build and maintain good relationships with Japanese travel agencies, local suppliers, and other business partners.
• Support visits and inspection tours in Malaysia by representatives of Japanese travel agencies, providing guidance and explanations from the perspective of Japanese travelers.
• Help promote Malaysia as a travel destination and support the development of inbound tourism from Japan.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies involving travelers during their stay in Malaysia.
• Keep management in Japan and the relevant clients informed of the situation, actions taken, and further arrangements required.
