Job summary

Responsibilities

• Involve in meal assembly for all three meals and mid-meal snacks including late orders.
• Deliver patient meals and mid-meal snacks from Dietary Services to patients' bedside.
• Collect soiled trays from patients upon completion of meals.
• Distribute and collect patient menus for following days.
• Assist in setting up in-house catering items and deliver to designated venue.
• Perform all dishwashing functions including scrapping, washing and storage.
• Maintain and clean dishwasher at regular intervals.
• Clean working areas regularly and perform weekly general cleaning.
• Check and fill up the recommended stock level of food service items.
• Assist in receiving incoming goods and maintain storage areas properly.
• Ensure sufficient mise-en-place for all food items and ingredients.
• Participate in on-job training workshops and lectures.
• Carry out duties as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act.
• Participate actively in any other new service that is introduced.
• Ensure compliance with various hospital standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient meals and mid-meal snacks from Dietary Services and serve to patients' bedside.
• Collect soiled trays from patients upon completion of meals.
• Distribute and collect patient menus for following days.
• Assist in setting up of in-house catering items and deliver to designated venue; provide waitressing service if requested.
• Perform all dishwashing functions including scrapping, washing and storage of crockeries, glassware and cutleries.
• Maintain and clean dishwasher at regular intervals.
• Clean working areas regularly and perform weekly general cleaning as directed.
• Check and fill up the recommended stock level of all food service items regularly.
• Assist in receiving incoming goods and maintain storage areas properly.
• Ensure sufficient mise-en-place for all food items and ingredients.
• Participate in on-job training workshops and lectures.
• Carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994: take reasonable care at work for safety of yourself and others; cooperate with employer or others; wear or use protective equipment or clothing; comply with safety instructions or measures.

• Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, JCI Accreditation Standards, MSQH Accreditation Standards, HACCP and/or Hospital Accreditation are adhered to and records maintained, if and when these programs are implemented.
• Actively participate in all 5S activities.
• Ensure policies on patients and family rights are addressed at all times.
• Ensure compliance to Patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008).
• Ensure adhere to Standard People Practice (SPP).
• Work collaboratively with leaders, clinicians, staff, visitors and patients in the development and promotion of behaviors, environment and patient care solutions.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the HOS, Supervisor or Chef/Leader.
