Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking a Kitchen/Facilities Support role to maintain high standards of food presentation and hygiene for patients and visitors in a hospital setting.

You will prepare and portion food, arrange plates neatly, rotate stock, and assist with catering projects while ensuring cleanliness and sanitation across the kitchen. Training is provided; SPM or equivalent education is required with no prior experience needed.

Qualifications

• SPM or equivalent education requirement.
• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Experience in hospital dietary services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items by ensuring quality and quantity.
• Ensure food items are arranged on plates and platters.
• Prepare and assemble portions in accordance with the menu.
• Store food in an appropriate manner.
• Ensure temperatures are within specified range as according to statutory requirements.
• Deliver food to the appropriate room or person; collect and discard the meal tray within the stipulated time.
• Managing food inventory and supplies are according to par level.
• Wash dishes and flatware.
• Operate and maintain dishwashers.
• Assist with food preparation services for catering projects.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

To maintain a high standard of food presentation service and hygiene to patients and visitors

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Prepare food items by ensuring both quality and quantity
• Ensure that food items are appropriately arranged on plates and platters
• Prepare and assemble portions in accordance with the menu
• Store food in an appropriate manner
• Ensure that food items are properly rotated in storage
• Dispose of expired products and record accordingly
• Arrange plates and food items neatly on trays
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen by following cleaning and sanitation guidelines
• Manage transportation of food and supplies.
• Ensure temperatures are within specified range as according to statutory requirements and recommended approved guidance
• Deliver food to the appropriate room or person; collect and discard the meal tray within the stipulated time
• Managing food inventory and supplies are according to par level
• Wash dishes and flatware
• Operate and maintain dishwashers
• Perform light bookkeeping duties
• Report kitchen malfunctions to superior immediately
• Inspect food items and equipment on a constant basis
• Assist with food preparation services for catering projects
• Any other duties as per instructed by the organization

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Education: SPM or equivalent
• Knowledge and Experiences: No experience required as on-the-job training shall be provided.
• However, experience in food related industry shall be an added Familiarity with any food industry
• Experience in Hospital Dietary Services will be an extra advantage
• Knowledge of customer service related Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and interface with various levels of the organization
