Job summary

KPJ Penang Specialist Hospital is seeking a dedicated Dietary Assistant to deliver meals to patients and assist in meal plating according to the hospital schedule. You will portion foods to the standard size, ensure diet accuracy, and tally to the Bed Management System.

You will also help maintain trayline cleanliness, participate in inventory, and support quality accreditation activities while upholding KPJ's standard people practices.

Qualifications

• SPM or higher education is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals to patients according to hospital schedule ( breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner, supper ).
• Assist with plating meals during mealtimes as scheduled.
• Portion meals following standard sizes per the Hospital Diet Manual.
• Ensure correct diets and tally to the BMS form.
• Ensure crockeries are clean and complete before serving.
• Verify patients receive the meals ordered by ward and patient.
• Participate in weekly and monthly inventory monitoring.
• Maintain cleanliness of trayline and working area.
• Maintain good communication with patients, staff, management and colleagues.
• Participate in quality accreditation activities (e.g., JCI, MSQH, IMS, MSOSH, 5S).
• Adhere to KPJ Standard People Practice (SPP).
• All policies and procedures are followed and records maintained.
• Assist in any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by Head of Services or Hospital Management.

2. 2. Involve directly in food plating during all mealtime as scheduled.
3. 3. Portion patients' meal following the standard portion size based on Hospital Diet Manual.
4. 4. Ensure all types of diet are correct and tally to Bed Management System (BMS) Form.
5. 5. Ensure all crockeries serve to the patients are clean and complete.
6. 6. Ensure all patients get the right meal as ordered by the ward and the patients.
7. 7. Participate directly in weekly and monthly inventory monitoring.
8. 8. Maintain cleanliness of trayline and working area.
9. 9. Maintain good communication with patients, hospital staff, the Management and among colleagues.
10. 10. Participate in all quality accreditation activities (e.g. JCI, MSQH, IMS, MSOSH, 5S, etc.)
11. 11. Adhere to KPJ Standard People Practice (SPP).
12. 12. All policies and procedures are adhered to and records are maintained.
13. 13. To assist in any other responsibility as deemed necessary by Head of Services or Hospital Management.
