Job summary

Pacific Comnet (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd seeks an Assistant Finance Manager to lead finance and accounting activities, ensuring timely financial reporting and compliance with both international standards and local guidelines.

The role covers payroll, AP/AR, budgeting, variance analysis, and internal controls, with interaction across functions and clients, including Mandarin-speaking stakeholders where required. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur with a focus on strengthening financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibilities for finance and accounting activities to support financial operations, including preparation of financial and management reports, budgets and cash flow forecasts, costing and variance analysis, tax and treasury management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist the HOD in ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting.
• Provide financial discipline and expertise to ensure compliance with international accounting and auditing standards and local statutory guidelines.
• Assist with accounting and financial activities, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, commission calculation, budgeting, income statements and financial reporting.
• Maintain records in accounting systems, including general ledger, journal entry preparation and posting.
• Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and reporting systems; identify and implement improvements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare reconciliation of inter-company transactions and general ledger.
• Prepare SST reports to Customs.

The ideal incumbent will have two set of roles:

• Incumbent will have overall responsibilities for the finance and accounting activities to support the financial operations. Incumbent will be accountable for preparation of financial and management reports, preparation of budgets and cash flow forecast, costing and variance analysis, management of tax and treasury functions, internal control, and regulatory compliance
• The incumbent will also assist the HOD in ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of SAP accounting system will be an advantage
• Candidates who are fluent in Mandarin are preferred because the roles required to interact with Mandarin-speaking client
