Responsibilities

• Prepare Cable Technical Sheet (CTS) including conductor spec, insulation and ratings.
• Compile Bill of Materials (BOM) from CTS and maintain SAP/Cablebuilder records.
• Process work orders and follow up to avoid production bottlenecks.
• Prepare material standards and record meeting minutes for procurement support.
• Benchmark designs, support trials and document results.
• Assist with ECNs and JOVs for design changes with traceability.
• Support continuous improvement and cross-department coordination.

Assistant Engineer, Research - Development

• Prepare Cable Technical Sheet (CTS): conductor spec, insulation/sheath details, dimensions, electrical and mechanical ratings, applicable standards (IEC, BS, IEEE, TNB)
• Compile Bill of Material (BOM) from finalized CTS — materials, compounds, and quantities required
• Maintain accurate Product Codes and BOMs in SAP/Cablebuilder.
• Process work orders through the workflow system; follow up on pending or delayed orders to avoid production bottlenecks

Procurement Support

• Prepare and distribute material standards
• Keep records of related meeting minutes

Design & Trials

• Benchmark product designs against competitor offerings
• Support trial runs on alternative materials/compounds and new wire diameters; document results

Change Control

• Assist with Engineering Change Note (ECN)s for design changes, trials, and material evaluations
• Issue Job Order Variation (JOV)s for design modifications, ensuring traceability

General

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and cross-department coordination
• Other tasks as assigned by superior

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field
• Strong foundation in mathematics — this role involves regular calculations for cable dimensioning, material quantities (BOM), and electrical/mechanical ratings, so comfort with numbers is essential, not optional

Experience

• 0-2 years; fresh graduates welcome
