Job summary

Greatech Malaysia is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to liaise with Mechanical Design and Software teams, integrating electrical design into machine development. You will create and maintain BOMs, and use AutoCAD/Eplan to draft schematics per customer specs.

You will design control box layouts with proper wire sizing and protection, collaborate with Purchasing for timely components, and guide Assembly with wiring instructions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or related field.
• Fresh graduate or 0-2 years of experience in electrical field.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Mechanical Design and Software teams to understand project requirements and integrate electrical design into the machine development.
• Create and maintain BOMs, sourcing electrical components aligned with project needs and availability.
• Use AutoCAD/Eplan to design electrical schematic diagrams per customer specs.
• Design layouts for electrical control boxes with correct wire sizing and circuit protection.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure timely delivery of components for assembly.
• Provide clear wiring and integration instructions to Assembly teams.
• Perform electrical system testing and troubleshooting during power-up to ensure software functionality.
• Adhere to ISO requirements and safety standards in design and operation.
• Travel locally and overseas for project onsite installation support as needed.
• Perform other duties and instructions from superiors.

• 1. Liaise with Mechanical Design and Software teams to understand project requirements and integrate electrical design specifications into the machine's development.
• 2. Create and maintain detailed bills of materials (BOM), selecting and sourcing electrical components aligned with project needs, cost-effectiveness, and availability.
• 3. Utilize AutoCAD/Eplan (or other electrical schematic tools) to design electrical schematic diagrams in accordance with customer specifications and project requirements.
• 4. Design optimal layouts for electrical control boxes, ensuring precise wire sizing and implementing circuit protection mechanisms as per system requirements.
• 5. Collaborate closely with the Purchasing Department to track and ensure timely delivery of all necessary components for machine assembly and deployment.
• 6. Provide clear and concise instructions to the Assembly regarding the wiring and integration of electrical components within the machine.
• 7. Perform rigorous electrical system testing and troubleshooting during machine power-up, ensuring smooth software operation and functionality before final delivery.
• 8. Adhere strictly to ISO requirements and industry safety standards, integrating these protocols into all aspects of design and operation.
• 9. Ability to travel both locally and overseas, upon requests for project onsite installation support.
• 10. Perform additional tasks as directed by superiors as part of ongoing responsibilities.
• 11. Other duties and assignments as instructed by superiors from time to time.
• 12. To comply to all requirements of ISO (inclusive of all standards approved by the Management) and to adhere to general safety practices, standard operating procedure, work instructions, policies and guidelines provided by the company.

Requirements:

• 1.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent years of related experience.
• 2.Fresh graduate or minimum of 0-2 years of working experience in the related field.
