Job summary

CNMY seeks an Assistant Contract Manager to support commercial proposals, cost estimates, contract administration and overall commercial management on industrial projects including EPC/EPCM and Design & Build. You will liaise with international stakeholders and major clients while assisting with tendering and cost control.

The ideal candidate holds a degree/diploma in Quantity Surveying with 8+ years experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; Mandarin language skills are

Qualifications

• A Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of experience in quantity surveying practice or consultancy.
• M&E experience is advantageous.
• Experience with fast-track and industrial projects is required.
• Commercial capability in cost control, tendering, procurement, variations and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial proposals: Assist Project and Business Development teams with fee proposals and commercial bids.
• Prepare cost estimates: Develop preliminary construction CAPEX estimates and provide feasibility input when required.
• Manage progress claims: Oversee monthly progress claims and support timely payment processing for clients, contractors and consultants.
• Compile commercial reports: Prepare commercial data and reports for internal reviews and client presentations.
• Prepare tender documents: Lead tender documentation for smaller retrofitting and refurbishment projects.
• Coordinate procurement: Invite and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison reports.
• Manage Bills of Quantities: Coordinate with clients, consultants and quantity surveyors on tender documents and Bills of Quantities.
• Advise on contracts: Provide input on tender strategies, procurement routes and contract arrangements based on project requirements.
• Administer contracts: Manage post-contract matters, including cost control, variations and interim valuations.
• Monitor project costs: Prepare monthly cost reports, update cost databases, track cash flow and forecast payments.
• Assess variations: Review and validate variation submissions and provide recommendations for client approval.
• Support project meetings: Attend project and site meetings to monitor contractual and commercial matters.
• Manage budgets: Monitor project budgets and support alignment with approved financial targets.
• Support final accounts: Work with quantity surveyors to prepare final accounts and facilitate timely contract closure.
