Job summary

Jack-In Pile (M) Sdn Bhd in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, is seeking an Assistant Contract Manager or Contract Manager to oversee construction contracts on-site. You will manage the contracts lifecycle, review terms, monitor performance, and support commercial management to ensure profitability.

The role requires a degree in construction or related field, 3–5 years in contracts management, and proficiency in English.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in contracts management within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of PAM, CIDB or international standard contracts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Malay or other local languages is advantageous.
• Professional certification such as CIDB registration, RICS Associate status or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience with construction projects in Malaysia is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Managing and administering construction contracts throughout their lifecycle, from initiation through to completion and closeout
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions to protect company interests whilst maintaining positive client relationships
• Monitoring contractor performance against contractual obligations and specifications, ensuring compliance with all agreed terms
• Processing and evaluating variation orders, claims and change requests in accordance with contract conditions
• Managing contract documentation, correspondence and records in a systematic and organised manner
• Liaising between clients, contractors, designers and internal stakeholders to resolve contractual issues and disputes
• Preparing regular contract status reports, including progress updates, cost forecasts and risk assessments
• Ensuring timely processing of contractor payments and certification based on contractual requirements
• Identifying and mitigating contractual risks and disputes before they escalated
• Supporting the commercial management of projects to ensure profitability and cost control

ASSISTANT CONTRACT MANAGER / CONTRACT MANAGER

About the role

Jack-In Pile (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Assistant Contract Manager or Contract Manager to join our dynamic team in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position based on-site at our Cheras location. As a key member of our contracts management division, you will play a crucial role in overseeing construction contracts, ensuring compliance with project agreements, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and stakeholders. This position is strategically important to our operations, directly influencing project success, cost control and client satisfaction across our construction portfolio.

Key responsibilities

Managing and administering construction contracts throughout their lifecycle, from initiation through to completion and closeout

What we're looking for

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related discipline

Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including standard forms such as PAM, CIDB or international standards

Excellent understanding of contract administration procedures and dispute resolution mechanisms

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Malay or other local languages is advantageous

Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively

Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Professional certification such as CIDB registration, RICS Associate status or equivalent is preferred

Experience with construction projects in Malaysia is highly desirable

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage stakeholder relationships professionally
