Job summary

JO Architects Sdn Bhd seeks a driven Assistant Architect to develop conceptual and sketched proposals, prepare drawings for local authorities, and assist in tendering. The role requires strong CAD/BIM skills and the ability to collaborate with clients and consultants in a dynamic studio environment.

You will work within a team to translate client briefs into functional, aesthetically pleasing designs, while considering costs, ethics, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Architecture (Part 1) or equivalent.
• Self-motivated, take ownership and able to work independently.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, BIM and other relevant design, drafting and rendering software.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with pleasant personality.
• Able to communicate with our diverse client in Mandarin, English and Malay.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual and sketch proposals.
• Prepare and submit drawings and necessary documents to local authorities.
• Involve in tendering process.
• Coordinate with client, consultants and authorities.
• Develop architectural design that meets functionality and aesthetics requirements.
• Identify problems, analyze, and translate design brief into functional design.
• Apply architectural principles, technology, environment and urban design in design.
• Produce design, construction drawings and reports using appropriate tools.
• Work in a team and collaborate with allied professions.
• Demonstrate awareness of ethics, society, and cost implications of options.
