Job summary

Hwa Hin Sdn Bhd is seeking an Architectural Assistant to support design development and documentation for architectural projects in Johor Bahru. You will prepare AutoCAD drawings and SketchUp models, coordinate with C&S and M&E teams, and assist with authority submissions and presentations.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Architecture, proficiency in AutoCAD/SketchUp, and strong MS Office skills. Enthusiasm to learn M&E aspects and fluent English/Mandarin are desirable for client

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture or equivalent discipline.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for documentation, reporting, and presentations.
• Basic knowledge of passive fire design principles is required (e.g. fire-rated walls and doors, compartmentation, means of egress, smoke control).
• Prior M&E knowledge is not mandatory, however candidates must demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, especially within M&E-intensive projects involving HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection, ELV/ICT, and hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Liaise directly with clients to understand, clarify, and document user requirements.
• Maintain good client relationships and ensure design intent aligns with operational needs.
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings and SketchUp models for concept and detailed design stages.
• Assist in proposal development with consideration for functionality, aesthetics, constructability, and passive fire safety compliance.
• Support the Project Manager in coordinating with C&S and M&E consultants, as well as internal teams (Builders and QS).
• Assist in compiling authority submission documents and tracking approval timelines, including inspections and CCC.
• Maintain proper design documentation, drawings, and version control.
• Prepare presentation materials for client meetings in both English and Mandarin.
