Job summary

SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Berhad in Malaysia is recruiting an Assembly Technician to perform assembly tasks for various parts and meet customer delivery dates.

You will read drawings, follow work instructions and SOPs, set up and operate equipment, and conduct tests and inspections to ensure products meet specifications. You will also assist supervisors and engineers as required, while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Must have SPM/Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or related field.
• 1–2 years of assembly/manufacturing experience.
• Able to read and interpret drawings or assembly manuals.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Familiar with safety procedures and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assembly tasks for parts to meet customer delivery dates.
• Follow work instructions and SOPs; ensure correct assembly details.
• Read, understand and follow process documents, work instructions and drawings.
• Set up, arrange and operate equipment per supervisor instructions.
• Conduct regular tests and inspections to verify product conformity.
• Suggest improvements to senior personnel to maintain product quality.
• Maintain calibration and safe use of tools and instruments.
• Attend daily production tasks and keep assembly area clean and organized.

Assembly Technician

Responsibilities

• To perform all assembly job for all parts to meet customer delivery date.
• To ensure all parts or component using the right assembly detail and must follow the Work Instruction and sop.
• To read, understand and follow process documents, work instruction and drawings to gather information regarding job.
• To set up, arrange, and operate equipment as per the specifications and instructions from the supervisor.
• To perform regular test and inspection procedures to ensure that the product is formed in accordance with the specifications.
• To implement and identify needs for improvement by conveying it to the senior personnel, so that quality of products is maintained.
• To maintain and update the results related to various tests and inspection procedures conducted regarding the product specification.
• To ensure all instrument and tools are calibrated and safe to use.
• To maintain cleanliness of the instrument and tools are used.
• To attend daily production and prepare all job task accordingly.
• Responsible for housekeeping in assembly area.
• To assist supervisor, engineer for any processes when required.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years working experience in assembly or manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, or assembly manuals.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (e.g. torque wrench, calipers)
• Familiar with safety procedures and PPE requirements.
