Job summary

Tentacle Tech is seeking an experienced AS/400 Developer to join our team in Malaysia. You will work on core banking systems, using IBM i (AS/400) with RPG, RPGLE, CL, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400, focusing on Payments and Loans modules.

The role involves development, enhancements, production support, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure stable, compliant banking solutions. On-site, contract position based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of AS/400 (IBM i) development experience.
• Strong skills in RPG, RPGLE, CLP, SQLRPGLE, and DB2.
• Mandatory banking experience in Payments and Loans.
• Experience with system integration, APIs, MQ, and batch processing.
• Good understanding of SDLC and production support practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using RPG/RPGLE, CL, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400.
• Support Payments, Remittance, Fund Transfer, and Loan Management systems.
• Perform enhancements, production support, bug fixing, and performance tuning.
• Participate in requirement analysis, development, testing, UAT, and production deployment.
• Support incident resolution and end-of-day banking processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and system stability.

The Role

Are you an experienced AS/400 Developer with a passion for core banking systems? We're seeking a skilled professional with strong domain expertise in Payments and Loans to develop, enhance, and support critical banking applications on IBM I (AS/400). This onsite contract role places you at the heart of the finance sector, working on systems that power everyday banking operations, with exposure to Silverlake Core Banking considered a strong advantage.

What You'll Do
