Job summary

Banking in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an AS400 Support Engineer/Developer to maintain and enhance AS400 systems in a high-security financial environment.

You will provide Level 2/3 support, design and develop modules using RPG/CL, perform OS upgrades, and lead integration efforts with modern platforms via APIs and MQ. Shifts arranged, salary up to RM15,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-10 years of technical support experience in trading/financial services apps.
• Expert-level proficiency with AS400 systems.
• Advanced knowledge of DB2/400, complex SQL concepts, and data mapping for financial transactions.
• Experience with high-availability tools, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with SWIFT messaging standards and MQ integration.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 support for production incidents in sensitive financial environments across global sites.
• Design and maintain AS400 software modules using RPG and CL.
• Perform OS upgrades, manage LPAR configurations, and apply patches.
• Enhance AS400 by developing refreshed processes for optimal performance.
• Lead design/development of post-trade apps for matching, settlement, and payment processing.
• Automate complex post-execution operations, including trade booking and intercompany settlements.
• Lead integration of legacy AS/400 applications with modern platforms via APIs, web services, or middleware like IBM App Connect Enterprise or MQ.

Job Purpose

• Provide Level 2/3 support for production incidents in highly sensitive financial environments, often across multiple global sites
• Designing and maintaining software modules using languages like RPG (III, IV, Free Form) and CL.
• Performing OS upgrades, managing LPAR configurations, and handling patch management to ensure system stability.
• Enhance the AS400 system by developing new process, and refreshing existing process to ensure optimal performance.
• Lead the design and development of critical post-trade applications used for trade matching, settlement, and payment processing.
• Automate and streamline complex post-execution operations, including trade booking, intercompany settlements, and connectivity to global exchanges or clearing houses.
• Lead initiatives to integrate legacy AS/400 applications with modern platforms using APIs, web services, or middleware like IBM App Connect Enterprise or MQ.
